Modern Toddler Backpacks

Although summer has just officially began, I’m already thinking about back to school. I can’t help it – I’m a teacher AND a mom, and as much as I adore summer I also really love back to school. And this year I have a fun addition to the teagan & bailey shop…
I can’t claim any credit for the pattern. It’s a pattern design by Rae Hoekstra of made-by-rae.com. (I’m an authorized seller.) I purchased the pattern quite awhile ago, and just had time to try it out this past week. I love it. I added interfacing and a lining (I covered the seams with a matching bias binding) to give it structure, and it’s just the right size for preschoolers. My daughters will use theirs for transporting snacks, lunch, art projects, etc back and forth from school and home. It’s also just the right size to pack up a pair of pj’s and a blankie for slumber parties at Grandpa and Grandma’s house. The finished dimensions are 11 3/8″ x 10″ x 4 1/4″.
